We will also visit with candidates for Longmont City Council.

MEET:  Matt Garrett - City Council Candidate, At Large

Matt GarrettMatt Garrett was born and raised in Longmont and understands what it needs from the inside out. He has always considered Longmont “home” even though he moved away for a few years in his twenties. Watching it grow and change has encouraged him to be part of the process.

As a UPS driver for over 28 years, with the same route for 22 years, he knows every part of the city and has interacted with downtown business owners on a regular basis. Matt is also in his 21st year as a union steward for Teamsters Local 455 and has officiated high school and college basketball for 20 years. Longmont is his community and he wants to help it grow responsibly and smartly from the inside.

Matt is married with seven adult children, two biological, two stepchildren and three adopted from Ukraine. He also has four grandchildren. Like most, he states that life has been messy and difficult at times, but it’s his! Spending time with his wife, being active in his church, hiking, learning to play the guitar, language studies, cycling, and walking is what he enjoys most.  He asks for your vote in November.

MEET:  Regan Sample - City Council Candidate, Ward 3

Regan SampleRegan Sample is a Boulder County native, attended school in Greeley and Fort Collins, and has lived in Longmont for nearly 15 years.  He believes we need to support small business and the business community, as they are the economic engines creating jobs and generating revenue.  The City of Longmont needs a smart growth plan to ensure a viable future.

After starting his own business from scratch, he was awarded Micro Business of the Year from the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce in 2017.  He has successfully served the community in many leadership positions.  With his vast experience, he feels he can help Longmont grow successfully.

Longmont is growing at an ever-increasing rate and Regan can relate to the struggle of keeping up with the rising cost of living here.  He, too, feels the impact of this growth, which is why it is so important to him that we focus on smart growth and support the business community to keep Longmont an amazing place to live.  He asks for your vote in November.

We order whatever we want off the menu and pay the server directly.  A basket is passed for donations to help offset LRW expenses.  NOTE:  Please make sure you arrive on time to give the server time to take the orders and serve our meals before the meeting begins.  Our speakers begin around noon and the server will not serve or clear settings until after the speaker finishes.  Thank you!
