Run for Office

Whether you are considering running for local office such as school board or city council, or a county office like county commissioner, or a state legislative seat, elected officials should be made up of average citizens like us, but getting started can be very daunting. Don’t let the process intimidate you.

There are quite a few resources available to help make sure you have the proper paperwork in place to make your candidacy official, and you will find many people who have run for office at one time or another at the Boulder County GOP office.

2024 Erie, CO Municipal Update:

As part of the transition plan to adopt the new Town Charter, all current members of the Council will need to run for re-election in November 2024 to begin new terms on the Town Council. After November 2024, the Mayor will now have four-year terms (maximum two terms) as will all other Councilors. The three lowest vote-getters after the November 2023 election will only serve for two years to ensure staggering the turnover on the Council.

This means 6 Trustees and Mayor are up for reelection.
